Today, build was working on the chassis and moved forward with two shooter designs: a flywheel with a retractable hood, and a two wheeled horizontal shooter. We were spending time crunching some numbers to backup our designs with some math, and compiled a list of materials that we might need to build these shooters. The hooded shooter group in particular worked on figuring out how to make the hood retract, and the two wheeled shooter group spent time finding what angle the ramp leading to the two spinning shooter wheels should be raised to. The wedge group tested some of their prototypes (45 and 30 degrees) on an old drivetrain. Both wedges worked, but they are thinking of going with 45 angle wedge so that less has to be cut out of the chassis.
Finally, the programming team are reviewing how to write drive code and are choosing drivetrain encoders, while Grace CAD-ed the clamping blocks for the drivetrain. Our entrepreneurship team worked on designing merchandise.
