Day 1 at world championships was amazing. The environment was exciting, and the venue was impressive with 8 different playing fields. Over 700 teams competed, many of which had won their regional. The day started out with a very successful match. Our alliance scored 53 points all of which were from our robot Sierra. Our other matches were successful as well. For lunch, we walked to the St. Louis arch. Throughout the day, many members of our team walked through the pits and asked questions about other teams’ designs and strategies. It was especially interesting to see how others built their robot, and we got new ideas for next year. We were not able to get tickets to robo prom, but we went back to our hotel and got dressed up anyways. We then went to eat frozen custard and go bowling. Stay tuned for more updates about Sierra at St. Louis Worlds Championships!
