On Friday the team split off into two build groups alongside one CAD group, one programming group, and the leads group. One build group continued work on the pulley to try and attach a SIMs motor to one side of their device in order to make the pulley spin correctly. The other build group continued work on the rotating arm, which rotates down to push the tote/bin into place for the grabbing arm. They worked alongside the CAD team, who designed an insert that fits exactly into the side of the tote. This will be attached to an arm on the pulley and aligned by the rotating arms group prototype. The programming team was smaller tonight as they were working on debugging mecum wheel and drive code in order make the sample chassis move. The leads continued ordering parts for the chassis, which should be complete soon. Overall, Friday was a semi-productive day, but mostly it consisted of measurements and further, detailed design.
