Today we spent most of the day testing and debugging outdoors at our pyramid. We went through several different sizes of skateboard wheels as “skid plates” and successfully used our pusher-downer to lean toward the pyramid. However, the robot still requires some necessary adjustments to the skid plates, and unfortunately, it turns out epoxy isn’t strong enough to hold a worm (for a worm gear) to a motor shaft adapter. As it grew later and later, we settled down in Castilleja’s Good Court with Christmas lights, a heat lamp, and lots of blankets to keep us company. Hopefully, we’ll take another late night to make some important changes and then be ready to practice at NASA Ames tomorrow!
