Besides being Valentine’s day, today was a really important day for our robot. Most of the team came at 9 AM and many stayed until after 10 PM. The pusher-downer group finished their frame and left for IDEO to help some seniors with mounting the arm and attaching already spring-loaded hooks with Jimmy’s help. Hopefully, we will test our climbing mechanism tomorrow on our practice pyramid so we can be ready for our “scrimmage” on Sunday. We decided to add another dumper for the lower goal to use during autonomous and maybe even teleop if we have time to dump and climb. The “baby monstrosity” will be connected to the arm of the larger dumper at a 30 degree angle at the height at which we will be able to feed it and dump into the lower goal by pushing down a door connected to a pneumatic actuator. By tomorrow, we hope to finish the dumpers and mount the pusher-downer to the chassis.
Extras: After lunch, the group (with the help of Teresa) recorded a Harlem Shake video posted on the 5 Awesome Robots youtube channel- go check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_FbXHAxH5g
