Today’s group was particularly small as most of the team was at Rm4 Seminars. After a delicious dinner of Chinese food, we got to work! We split into four groups, each focusing on a different area of the build process. My group worked to improve the design of the hooks used for climbing. In order to give the hook a greater range of motion and more flexibility while climbing, we inserted a spring for it to pivot on. We faced a few challenges in the process, from finding the right material to prototype with to adjusting the design to address the issue. However, like any good project, it’s one step backwards followed by two steps forward!
