After a scrumptious dinner of burgers and frisbee-sized cookies, and a short field trip to the gym for basketball Senior Night and a lovely rendition of the national anthem, the build and programming teams once again split into groups. On the programming side, new members walked through pneumatics code, while others tested and debugged their encoder code.
Meanwhile, the build team returned to their previous groups to continue improving our new climbing arm idea. One group created a simple prototype of a “pusher-downer” foot on a leadscrew to push the back-end of our robot up and angling the climbing arm forward when preparing to climb the pyramid. Another group was busy crunching numbers for the “pusher-downer” dimensions, while the last group calculated the climbing arm dimensions after their scaled down prototype successfully worked yesterday on the similarly scaled down pyramid.
Now onto the weekend and our first Sunday meeting of the season!
